These sausage rolls are a great festive option for Christmas, or any time. Sage and onion stuffing works especially well in this recipe!

Ingredients
- 375g sausage meat
- 100g stuffing mix, prepared according to packet instructions and cooled
- 3 tablespoons apple sauce
- 1 sheet ready-rolled puff pastry
- 1 egg, beaten
How to make
- Preheat oven to 200°C (180°C fan). Line a baking tray with baking paper.
- Mix the sausage meat, prepared stuffing, and apple sauce in a bowl until combined.
- Cut the pastry lengthways into two strips.
- Divide the mixture into two long logs and place one down the centre of each strip.
- Brush one edge with egg, fold the pastry over the meat, and seal.
- Turn seam-side down and cut into 4 to 5 pieces per roll.
- Place on the lined baking tray, brush with egg, and score lightly with a knife.
- Bake for 25 to 30 minutes until crisp and golden.

These sausage rolls can be frozen before baking.
- Freeze on a tray until firm
- Transfer to a freezer bag and return them to the freezer
- When you are ready, bake from frozen at 190°C (170°C fan) for 35 to 40 minutes.
