What is Supported Employment?
Supported Employment helps people with additional needs find and keep paid work. They aim to do this by:
- listening to you so they can understand what you need and want from your job
- matching you with the right jobs, and helping you to apply and prepare for interviews
- continuing to support you once you start your job
- helping you if you want to develop your career
They also work closely with employers:
- to help your current or future employer understand you and your needs better
- to find and develop suitable job opportunities
Supported Employment teams understand everyone is different and support is not given in a set time frame.
Some people may get support for a few weeks, others for months or for years.
